Community Lutheran Partners has two programs in place to help households recover from the effects of flooding and other disasters.

One+Plus Kits!
A First Step for Disaster Relief in the WV-WMD Synod

When disasters such as flooding strikes a community, relief efforts arrive through many agencies. CLP has found a way to effectively contribute to these efforts. One+Plus kits are designed to fill the gaps in existing disaster relief efforts.
Our guiding example is this: Many times when relief efforts pour in, there is plenty of canned food for distribution, but no one has a can opener.
 

The CLP One+Plus kit is designed around this idea: Don’t forget the can opener!

One+Plus! Contents

A sturdy can opener
Utility candles
Wooden matches
Pencils/pens
Pencil sharpener
Spiral notebook
Rubber bands
Paper clips
Package of sterile wipes
Pair of Scissors
Pair of rubber gloves

Packaged in a plastic container about the size of a shoe box or boot box.

Optional materials to fill the box:
Dishcloth/tea towel
scrub sponge
scotch tape
sharpie pen
small sewing kit
fingernail clippers
feminine products
clothes pins
duct tape
Your own comforting touches

Remember to secure the kit with clear plastic tape to help keep it closed during transportation.

Sheets, Towels, Utensils For Families

S.T.U.F.F. will provide household necessities such as sheet sets, towel sets, stainless tableware settings, cooking utensils, and pots and pan sets to households who have suffered losses and damage due to disasters. This response is designed to assist families in need after other agencies, such as American Red Cross, have worked with them in disaster recovery efforts.

Requests for supplies will come through the CLP office, generally via the local Red Cross or another disaster response agency. 

 Please contact the CLP office for more information on donations and needed items.
